Some of the technologies we use at SoPost include:
Elixir and Typescript/React as the primary languages.
Python, Go and Rust are also used.
Google Cloud Platform is used for hosting our applications.
Selenium and Cucumber used for testing.
PostgreSQL and BigQuery are the primary data stores.
Knowledge of at least some of our core languages/technologies is required to perform the role, but is not expected from day one. Time and resources are available to develop your skills where needed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead one of our cross-functional development teams tasked with developing a number of the company’s applications and services, in tandem with the Product Manager.
Take ownership of the ‘when’, ‘who’ and ‘how’ aspects of the development in order to deliver products that are secure, reliable, scalable, and of high quality
Ensure application uptime, monitoring and relevant supporting helpdesk activities are maintained.
Support engineers who report to you in their career progression and daily activities.
Participate in platform leadership activities such as governance.
Lead by example by performing technical work to a high standard.

Our squads may differ as required by the needs of the product(s) they are working on, but generally contain design, back-end and front-end engineering skill-sets, and generally use Scrum and other Agile practices to help them deliver projects effectively and solve the problems presented to them.

Please note: This role is open to applicants throughout the UK as it is fully remote, however we would prefer applicants from the Newcastle / North East region. Our Tech Hub is based in our Newcastle office and staff can use this space to work from, for collaboration and socials.
Salary Circa £75k but negotiable for the right candidate.
